• Expert in personal transformation?

Got a Vision Board? It’s January 2010 and starting off the new year with focus is essential! I just finished my vision board a few days ago, And recently attended a Millionaire Tour the other night. I was so inspired by what the speakers where presenting! So much of it was on cue with my practices of radical transformation, yet it all related to money, well, it was a Millionaire Tour! Who doesn’t want to make millions?  What really struck me is that Brad Hager (a Multi-Millionaire)  talked about writing out your dream list, what will your life look like on December 31st, 2010. He then then empowered us to rewrite it every day for 30 days. Record it and listen to it often and take action towards making it happen!  So I AM pumped up! I finished my vision board, got this amazing new journal F.U.E.L (Focused – Unlimited – Extraordinary  – Life) by Trisha L. Moore, and filled out my affirmations, my goals and intentions, my bucket list, and who I am attracting into my life.

I had a little bit of time left before had to leave to pick up my daughter from school and head off to teach kids yoga, I picked up my iphone and drew a card from.. click on pic to get application.

    T. Hav Eker’s Secrets to Success of a Millionaire Mind application, and it said “BE THE BEST AT WHAT YOU DO” “To get paid the best you must be an the best, rich people are experts in their field…  this lead me to open up my journal and write and here is what showed up..

Let me share with you that sometimes when I write I ask questions to a larger source, I really don’t give it a name, well, not true, I give it many names, such as Angels, guides, spirits, god, higher power, highest good.. something beyond my ego.. etc… you get the idea, I am not attached to a name, but this energy serves in guiding me..

Here is  a journal entry from Wednesday January 20th, 2010

Which leads me to where am I an expert? According to Malcolm Gladwell’s book “Outliers” it’s an accumulation of 10 years in a specific field and spending over 10,000 hours in that area.  So clearly I am an expert in radically transforming myself. Being a personal trainer for 20 years, 10+ years of coaching and teaching yoga, I am all about growing and evolving as a human being and have succeed in making most of my dreams come true!

So I come back to the how? How do I share my own transformation and get it out there that I am an expert in the transformation process? That I can guide others in this process, to help them manifest their dreams?  I don’t know what the answer is?  How do I authentically put myself out there and share my own transformation to other that will show that I am an expert in the field of using these tools? Ok, here is the answer…. share what you just wrote. Let people in! They don’t know you from adam, share your story, your fear, your process.. give them the juicy details and let them know it’s possible!   Today you drew the  Angel card “Listening”. Are you listening? We have been guiding you to get in your 7 practices daily, take the time to write, practice yoga, meditate, wonder, write about them… why do I keep crying here?….. because I am scared shirtless (;-) of rejection and having people laugh at me and making a complete fool of myself. Good awareness, now do it anyways, who cares what they think, do it and you may be serving in helping someone!

Please, simply type this into your web site and put it out there daily. Don’t be afraid to share it, people need to see how real you are. You can’t hide anymore if you want to powerfully inspire and empower others beings. Yes, the tears are flowing as I write this and again as I type this, and I  know that this is really a part of the healing that really needs to happen. As you always said, JUST DO IT! Feel the fear and do it anyways.. As Bob Marley Says, Don’t worry about a thing, cause everything little thing is gonna be alright!  What a blast I had last week having my yoga students sing this song in shoulder-stand, 31  beginning yogis singing about it all being OK!  Time to run off and pick up grace and head off to teach some wonderful kids yoga… awe the life of a passionate single mom – big dreams and always searching for more time to make it all happen, its all good, dreams are being realized.

  • Resolve to Evolve and watch your problems Dissolve!!!

The first thing I think of when it comes to the New Year, is new years resolutions. Do you? I have set them myself for years, and being a personal trainer, yoga teacher and life coach, I have worked with thousands who have done the same.  The health clubs fill up, people start eating better and life is exciting and happy. But then March rolls around, spring breaks hit and most people fall flat on their faces when it comes to keeping up the energy they started out with in the NEW YEAR!

Why is this you may ask? Unrealistic goals! Not setting an intention behind WHY they want to make these changes, and not having the support and, or proper education on how to make lifelong lasting lifestyles shifts.

This is where a coach, or someone who has walked the talk comes in. There are many ways to make changes, yet to actually have these stick for the long haul is another story. What’s the answer? There are many, and I am happy to share a few with you here now!

Intention- Why are you making changes? What are the results you look to achieve as a result of these goals?

Awareness- It all starts with being mindful. Slowing down and paying attention to what you are doing in this given moment.

The Switchover- If you are letting go of a negative habit, you need to have a positive one to takes its place

Baby Steps- Start off slow, make small changes that you can realistically handle and gradually add more.

My intention last year was “Focus” and keeping that in mind in all I do, brought some amazing results, this year it is “Clarity”. There are so many options and choices out there these days, and I am choosing to be clear on how I am spending my time and energy and resources.  What is your intention this year? I would love to hear it!

We are always changing, and fortunately or unfortunately it’s for the better or worse, we don’t stay the same. Why not let 2010 be the year of transformation? Are you ready? Will you invest the time and money in yourself that it takes to live a happier and healthier life? What does success look like to you? Are you ready?

Check out my resources page for tools and practices that will help you do just that.  Or better yet, take me up on a FREE call to find out how you can start Radically Transforming your life.  Or better yet, do the call and attend a workshop I am  offering. Regardless of where you live, you can join me on the phone or in person, and I can guarantee you that you will be happier.

  • Do you know what meditation really is?

Meditation practice is not about trying to throw ourselves away and become something better. It’s about befriending who we already are.

    ~ Pema Chodron

    Meditation

Meditation is the art of sitting down and being present with the mind that we all embody. Can you sit with yourself? You may experience thoughts running around in your head, just as a monkey swings through the trees. Can you be present for the whirling of the mind; to-do lists, memories of the past, plans for the future, rumblings of regret, words left unsaid, and ideas about what to do next? Can you watch all these thoughts pass through the mind, return your attention to your breath, and simply sit still? Meditation is the act of witnessing whatever arises in the mind with honesty and compassion, letting the thoughts go, and returning to the present moment with your breath?

There are many different styles of meditation according to various philosophies, religions, and doctrines, but in essence, meditation is being present with what is. Sounds so simple, yet it can be very challenging. We wiggle, squirm, get up, or skip it altogether. We find ways to not accept or allow ourselves to feel the discomfort of the present moment.

Meditation brings clarity, focus and a stillness that will benefit you in all areas of life; from your personal relationships, your passions, and hobbies, to your work or business. By taking time to sit in the moment, we actually tune in to the natural pace of life, finding softness and energy, instead of being caught up in the hustle and bustle of doing this and that. Meditation is a practice, like a muscle that needs to be trained and developed. Just as we train the body with exercise, the practice of meditation trains us to watch the mind, to follow the breath, and to slow down and actually be present with this miraculous life, this gift we have been given. Meditation is a practice, a lifetime exercise for the mind.

    Oneness

Through the practice of meditation, we can begin to witness, to actually observe the comings and goings of the mind. We learn to notice our thoughts, and watch them drift through the mind, just as we would watch the clouds move through the sky. Overtime, as we begin to let go of our attachment to these thoughts, we develop a practice of nonattachment, which can bring about a deeper sense of calm. With consistent practice, we find that underneath or behind, or even present in the mind, there is a peaceful place. This is a place of oneness, where the pure energy of spirit, soul, or the Divine lives. It resides inside all of us, and is sometimes easy to tap into, while at other times, challenging. This awareness, being present with this feeling of peace and oneness, is our connection to the Divine.

  • Create a dream life full of gratitude!

The second Chakra is the goddess chakra, Swadistana, located just above the root. The element here is WATER. As beings, we arrive in the world, in a fluid environment, swimming around, full of potential and freedom. As creative beings at heart, we are here on this earth to express ourselves.

Through the “Fun and Healthy Lifestyles” practices we explore the MIND to discover our unique expression of our purpose through journaling and other artistic pursuits with our BODY, and SPIRITUALLY we share our gratitude for all there is.

    Journaling

Journaling is a creative tool that allows us to connect to mind with our thoughts, to our bodies with our hands, and to our spirits, that inner dwelling that is seeking our purpose or passion in this life. By simply writing things down, we communicate our needs, our wants, and our feelings. We use writing as a practical tool to communicate with others in our personal and business lives. Here, we use it to set goals, to write out our innermost feelings, and to heal.

Free writing is the practice of writing for a commitment of time or pages, keeping the hand continuously moving, or in today’s day and age, continuously typing, and flowing with the stream of thoughts – whatever is coming and going from the top of the head, without letting the hand(s) stop. If you find that you get stuck in this practice, you simply write, “I don’t know what to say,” and something will arise. (Or – When we feel “stuck” in this practice, we simply write, “I don’t know what to say,” until something arises.)

In Julia Cameron’s book, The Artist Way, she calls these writings, the morning pages. “Put simply, the morning pages are three pages of longhand writing, strictly stream-of-consciousness: ‘Oh god, another morning. I have NOTHING to say. I need to wash the curtains. Did I get my laundry yesterday? Blah, blah, blah….’ They might also, more ingloriously, be called brain drain, since that is one of their main functions.” The morning pages are simply a way to release all the ongoing thoughts that run through our minds like crazy. They are an outlet for us to open up to the creativity that is inside, but stuck behind the oodles and oodles of thoughts.

We experience roughly 60,000 thoughts per minute. Amazing! While, many of these thoughts are repetitive, I have also read that we have to hear something 100 times before we really get it, understand it, and embody it. I am not a scientist, but I have spent many ( or ten? but not 37) years actively studying my own mind and have found writing to be a deep practice of connection to my whole being. The act of getting the thoughts and words out and down on paper, clears a space for discovering new, creative and divine thoughts to fill our minds and our lives.

    Goals and Dreams

Why is it that we may have a dream or goal, but, can’t get ourselves to take action, or even initiate the effort toward making it happen? We want something so badly; yet, we aren’t willing to go through the process of bringing it to life. Often times we realize we have been in love with the idea of the impact it will have on others, the places it may take us, and the person that we will be when it is all done; yet we struggle on a daily basis, to sit down and create a plan of action. We want the results without doing the work, yet without action, goals remains dreams.

    Gratitude

Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.–Oprah Winfrey

Being grateful is being full of great! It’s appreciating the benefits you are receiving from a situation or object, the act of expressing gratitude.

Gratitude is an attitude of thankfulness. When we have gratitude we go beyond the striving and clinging and hoping and wishing and wanting, we find ourselves in the present moment content with what we have. We embody the ability to appreciate all the goodness that is currently surrounding us. It is a space and of serenity, one of knowing that we are provided for and a place in which we can rest and feel a greater connection to all there is.

Gratitude can be perceived as an emotion of experiencing and realizing value of what one is receiving or already has within ones life. Ones who practice gratitude daily experience higher levels of health and well being. Practicing gratitude brings more happiness, less stress, less depression, and more satisfaction in your life. The practices of gratitude will allow you to handle life transactions better as well as creating a positive way in which to deal with obstacles that may come up in life.

  • What’s your relationship to Food like?

Food - You are what you eat!

The first Chakra is the Muladarhara, the root chakra. It is located at the base of the spine. The element here is EARTH. As humans, we are physically connected to the earth just as the plants and animals are, we are earthlings. We strive to find balance and connection to our roots, our families, and our mother earth.

Through the “Fun and Healthy Lifestyles” practices, we explore the MIND to discover our emotional and/or fearful attachments to food, the physical act of eating the food we put into our BODY, and the SPIRITUAL practices of mindfulness.

    Organics

    apple

Organic food is not only the hip thing these days, it’s the only way to insure that you are getting food that has the nutrients we need. Since most of our produce is grown on massive corporate farms that use herbicides and pesticides, our food is laced with chemicals that may cause cancer, heart disease, allergies, and an overall weakness to our immune system. Organic products, take our food back to its original state, free of toxins, antibiotics, hormones, and other shelf preserving additives. An organic, whole foods diet full of fruits and vegetables, legumes, grains and nuts, provides us with the natural foods that our bodies and minds need to thrive.

    VegetarianAvocados

The term Vegetarian is defined as a diet free of meat. Vegetarians do not eat cows (steak, hamburger, sirloin, beef, veal [baby cows]), chickens (at least we call that what it is), pigs (pork, bacon), fish, lambs, ducks, dogs (widely eaten in China), horses, and frog legs. Many vegetarians do not eat animals because animals can see, hear, smell, taste, and touch – the same five senses as you and I, and they experience feelings. We know that most animals love their babies, nurture, and connect with each other on some level, much the same way that we do.

Nothing will benefit human health and increase chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet. – Albert Einstein (1879-1955).

    juiceplus

    Vegan

The term Vegan is defined as a lifestyle and diet, free of all animal products – all the meats listed above in the vegetarian section, as well as all dairy products that come from these animals. This includes milk and cheese products, eggs, and butter. In addition, Vegans do not use leather shoes, belts, bags, clothing, or fur. Nor do they use beauty products that contain animal products or have been animal tested.

    Gluten Free

Gluten free may seem like a relatively new term, mostly associated with celiac disease and people with food sensitivities and allergies. Gluten is found in wheat, barley, and rye products. Gluten free products are becoming more available in response to increasing demand. Many people are eating a gluten free diet to improve their overall health and wellbeing. Many are taking on this change for weight loss as they learn more about consuming food that suits their body’s needs. Eating a gluten free diet, or even just cutting back, is a healthier way to live.

    Mindfulness

The teachings of mindful eating are a practice that will allow us to slow down, savor our food, appreciate it, taste it, be present with it, and eat fully in the present moment. Food can be scrumptious, delicious, and a meditative practice, if we take the time to simply be present with it.

Try this exercise with a raisin. Take one raisin between your fingers and look at it. Notice its texture, its size, and its smell. Close your eyes and contemplate it. Where did it come from? Start with the earth and think about the raisin’s journey to you. Visualize all the people involved in getting this raisin to your hand. Think about their role in this journey, whether joyful or hard. Meditate quietly on this raisin, giving thanks for all the beings that took part in feeding you. Then, open in gratitude to the earth and the sky, the sun, the water, and all the qualities and properties that produced this raisin. Now, slowly place the raisin in your mouth, but don’t chew or swallow it yet. Feel it in your mouth, notice its texture, taste, and smell again. How does it make you feel? Happy, bored, nothing? Just observe, be the witness, be mindful of this process.

Mindful eating… by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh

    1. This food is a gift of the whole universe ,the earth, the sky, and much mindful work.

    2. May we eat in mindfulness so as to be worthy of it.

    3. May we transform our unskillful states of mind and learn to eat in moderation.

    4. May we take only foods that nourish us and prevent illness.

    5. May we accept this food to realize the path of understanding and love.

  • Do you have passion in your life?

No, I am not talking about passion in the bedroom. I am talking about your everyday life. Are you doing what you love right now? What drives you? Are you jumping out of bed in the morning because you are so excited about life? I am, and I hope that you are too… If you’re not, ask yourself this simple question: Why not?

Something usually happens to us as we get older… Our dreams get a little shattered, we realize what we really want isn’t always easy to obtain, and there are a number of obstacles we must work through in order to live the life we want to live. Even if we are doing what we love, we sometimes complain and whine and grope about what it is we are doing in the present moment. Why is that? I know, there I go with the questioning again.

Do you question the status quo of your life? Or do you live life on autopilot, going from one day to the next?

At my daughter’s recent 4th Princess Birthday Party, I noticed how engaged the kids were in playing, coloring, eating cake, etc. They were very present in the moment and to me appeared to be very passionate about who they were being in the moment. Children have a way of doing what feels right and making the most of their time, in other words they want to be happy and strive to live that way.

    Oprah quote

So what is the answer? Try these on. They may make you feel uncomfortable, that’s part of the price to live a passionate life.

    1. Writing time–Find your passion! Discover it!
Take out a notebook, better yet, get a brand new notebook and label it! Find something jazzy that fits your personality. Discover your passion. What’s my life about? Who am I? Put a little spunk in it, so you’re drawn to come back again to find out more. Set aside 15-20 minutes, set a timer and sit down and write about what passion means to you. What were some of your childhood dreams? What are some of your current dreams that you are not pursuing? What gets you excited? Let the pen and paper flow and allow your creativity to come alive!

    2. Yoga/Exercise–Feel it in your body!
Now that you have started this process, get moving, physically that is. Go for a walk, hike, take a yoga class, keep this writing process in your mind and dive deeper while your blood is pumping and your heart is working. Exercise and mind/body exercise can solidify the work that your mind is opening up to and get you closer to taking action.

    3. Get a Coach–Who will support you in Taking ACTION! Create it!
Share all of this with your coach and they will hold you accountable and will reflect back to you the reality of your passion. A Coach is invested in your success and supports you in taking action to make it happen. Without a coach, most of us won’t take action when push comes to shove, and if you’re not waking up passionate and living the life of your dreams then you need a shove.

Take Action! Find passion in your life and live the life you were meant to live. Life can be short, why not enjoy it to the fullest!
